Sheriff Taxi Service located on Sheriff Street awarded the grand prize of $250,000 to Rashma Persaud on Thursday.
The woman was randomly chosen by way of a computerised system for traveling with the Service that issues coupons automatically with each trip. According to the new owner, Jerald Toovey, since he took over the business in July 2008, he commenced to computerise the entity. This promotion began since July 2009 and continued to February 2010.
He added that each customer that was given a Sheriff Taxi card was entitled to the draw. The computer randomly picked the winner at the end of the promotion.
