Warrant Officer Clenn Braithwaithe (right) presents the cheque to WDCTA President Mr. Mark Walkes at Defence Headquarters at Base Camp Ayanganna.
The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) continues to be consistent in its role in national development by supporting the West Demerara Circle Tennis Sub-Association (WDCTA).
On Tuesday the GDF made a financial contribution to the association to aid the organisation’s development programme. Warrant Officer, Class One, Clenn Braithwaite handed over the cheque on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Officers and Ranks of the Force.
WDCTA President Mr. Mark Walkes thanked the GDF for the contribution which, he said, would contribute to the successful hosting of its third annual Desmond Hoyte Memorial tournament which will feature circle tennis teams from Regions Three, Four and Ten.
The Guyana Defence Force remains committed to the development of sports as a vehicle for channeling the energies of our youth, away from the many social ills affecting our society.
