Pacesetters continue dominance
Colours Panthers cooled an enraged East/West Fire in overtime (OT) Tuesday night when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Open and Division III Leagues continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Fire-a recent addition to the list of teams in Georgetown-went down 82-88 after Panthers mauled them in the closing minutes of OT. The scores were locked 70-70 after regulation time had expired in the feature game.
Panthers had four players in double figures with Seon Hasan scoring 18 points, Yannick December 16, Yannick Wade and Olatunde Griffith 14 points each to give an impression of the offensive attack that was launched.
East/West Fire’s, Warren Oudkerk scored 12 points, Kester Gomes and Randy Aaron 10 points apiece for the team. At halftime the scores were also tied at 28 points apiece as Fire held on to Pathers before the late offensive surge.
In the preceding game, Pacesetters’ Division III team continued their dominance with an impressive 81-68 points’ win against Nets. Jermaine Taylor had 14 points as both Tariq Cave and Richard Mohandatt scored 11 points each.
Ryan Wilson and Glenroy Adams scored 18 points each. The tournament resumes tonight with Eagles taking on Ravens and Bounty Colts battling against Georgetown’s number one raked club, Courts Pacesetters in the feature game.
