Moshin Peerkhan blasts 165 for PM
Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets (RHTG&G) led by a double century from Jason Sinclair and an even 150 from Skipper Assad Fudadin coasted to a massive innings and 251 run victory over Skeldon when play in the Guyana Cricket Board National 3-day tournament continued in the Ancient County.
Enjoying home advantage at the Area “H” Ground, Skeldon batted first and were sent packing for a paltry 84 with George Nauth 37 not out and Sydney Jackman 18 the only batsmen to reach double figures.
Loyden Lewis 3-2, Ravi Narine 3-23 and Terrence Madramootoo 2-8 were the main wicket takers for RHTG&G who in reply rattled up a massive 540-5 declared with number 4 batsman Jason Sinclair blasting 260 retired hurt which was decorated with 30 boundaries and 6 sixes while Fudadin scored an even 150 before he was run out.
The National middle order batsman struck 15 boundaries and 4 sixes and shared a 226 run partnership for the 5th wicket with Sinclair.
Loyden Lewis 50 not out, Eon Hooper 30, Dominic Rickey 25 and Lenny Sanichar 25* supported well. Medium pacer Junior Reid took 4-140 for Skeldon who in their second innings were dismissed for 197.
Nazim Khan top scored with an aggressive 79 (14 x 4, 1 x 6), Junior Reid 35 and Junior Blair 20. Fifteen year-old off spinner Loyden Lewis completed a brilliant all round performance by taking 6-49 while Fudadin backed up with 2-42.
At the Blairmont Ground, Police and West Berbice are locked in a tight battle for outright points after Police won the first innings. Batting first, West Berbice were bowled out for 149; Sherwin McPherson hit 47 (6 x 4) and Krisendat Ramoo 29 (2 x 4).
Police in reply reached 214 with Albert Sinclair top scoring with a disciplined 72, Jerry Heyliger 44 and Michael Saul 27 offered. Sherwin McPherson grabbed 6-60 and left arm spinner Sherwin Peterkin 2-33 bowling for West Berbice who in their second turn at the crease faced a deficit of 65 runs.
They cleared that off and were eventually bowled out for 268. Krisendat Ramoo 60, Troy Halley 40 and Raffel Estriado 30 were the principal scorers while Sinclair completed a match haul of 10 wickets by taking 4-62 off 22 overs and medium pacer Kellon Henry 2-54. Needing to score 204 to win outright, Police reached 8 without loss at the close of the 2nd day.
At the Albion Cricket Ground, Port Mourant led Scottsburg United on first innings and is in a strong position to force for an outright win.
Scottsburg United batted first and scored 211 with National Under-19 captain Anthony Bramble top scoring with 45. Off spinner Rajendra Bolo took 5-48. Prolific opener Moshin Peerkhan then blasted an aggressive 165 with 24 boundaries as Port Mourant declared on 339-7. Chrisendat Arjune 57 not out and Devindra Thakurdeen 35 supported Peerkhan.
Facing a deficit of 128, Scottsburg United reached 95-3 in their second innings with Bramble on 65*. All uncompleted matches will continue on Saturday.
