Dear Editor,
The inspirational chapter with my journey of sports begun with “Chariots of Fire”, the 1981 Oscar movie award winner; the story is about two British track athletes (a determined Jew and a devout Christian) who would sacrifice anything, but their honour at the 1924 Olympics.
This in my book is a masterpiece and classic and the theme song is to die for.
The other to join the list is “The Blind Side” which has re-inspired my love for sports and yes, I said in a previous publication that Sandra Bullock’s chances were great with her brilliant performance. Lo and behold, she just bagged the 2009 Oscar for Best Actress.
It was my Aha moment.
Even the great Oprah got it wrong after rooting for Gabourey Sidibe the shining star of Oscar nominated, “Precious.”
Potential athletic icons, work with something to keep your motivation and inspiration spirits flying.
