The Achievers Youth and Sports Club (AY&SC) of West Coast Berbice will be holding its 8th Annual Awards Ceremony on Saturday March 20, 2010, to honour outstanding members of the club for the year 2009.
The activity will be held at the Fort Wellington Secondary School commencing from 14:00 hrs, and according to the Region 5 club, the Honorable Minister of Culture, Youth & Sports Dr. Frank Anthony and the Club’s Patron and Opposition leader Mr. Robert Corbin are expected to address the gathering.
Over 30 awards will be presented to members at all levels of competition at the club. Heading the list for the Cricketer of the year is 18-year old fast bowler Keon Joseph who only last month made his First-Class debut for Guyana in Grenada after representing the West Indies in this year’s Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.
