Uprising, Parika Salem, Hyde Park, Zeelugt and Vergenoegen recorded victories as play in the Naresh Ramkissoon twenty/20 cricket competition continued recently on the East Bank of Essequibo.
At Vergenoegen, in zone A, Uprising defeated the host by 31 runs. Uprising batted first and made 123 all out in 18.4 overs. Safraz Karim top scored with 40 while former national U-19 player Anil Jairam made 21. Vergenoegen in reply were bowled out for 92 in 18.1 overs. Extras contributed a healthy 36.
At Zeelugt, Hyde Park overcame the home team by 2 runs. Hyde Park took first strike and managed 119 before they were all out in 16 overs. Alim Mohamed led with 37 and extras helped with 24 as Jamal Hussain and Amid Balkaran took three wickets each. Zeelugt in reply were bowled out for 117 in 20 overs. Rohan Rambaran was the main run scorer with 53 and Kishore Rambaran contributed 25.
Imran Mohamed 3-16, Imtiaz Sadik and Alim Mohamed 2-28 were the destroyers for Hyde Park.
In other matches played, Parika Salem got the better of Ruby and Zeelugt ‘B’ by 7 runs and 6 wickets respectively while, Vergenoegen got past Hyde Park by 36 runs and Zeelugt overcame Uprising by 107 runs.

At Parika: Zeelugt “B” 82 all out in 15.2 overs (Eon Singh 26, Extras 24; Kenworth Smith 4-8, Mark Braithwaithe 3-8) Parika Salem 85-4 in 11.2 overs (Lennox Andrews 22, K. Smith 21).
Zone A: At Vergenoegen: Vergenoegen (159 all out in 20 overs (Arnold Padmore 59, Javed Shafeek 42; Inshan Mohamed 3-9, Alim Mohamed 2-18) . Hyde Park 123 all out in 17.2 overs. (Gowkarran Debi 33, Imtiaz Sadik 25. Extras 28, Trellon Garraway 4-16, A. Padmore 4-11).
At Zeelugt: Zeelugt 180 all out in 20 overs (Noel Bissessar 48, Mohan Ramlakhan 24, Kissoon Chanderban 24, Abdool Nazir 3-34, Artie Singh 2-34).
Uprising 73 all out in 14 overs (Quintin Foster 21, Jamal Hussain 3-20, Dennis Doodnauth 2-16, Deon Muniram 2-12 Kishore Chaiderban 2-10).
