William Walker showed his mettle in winning last weekend’s Toolsie Persaud Group of Companies Medal Play Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course, East Coast Demerara.
Walker recorded a net 68 from a gross 78 playing off a 10 handicap to turn back a strong challenge from the field.
The consistent Mark Lashley who won the previous tournament battled for second position with a net 72 from a gross 96 playing off a 24 handicap.
Joaan Deo return to form in claiming third position with a net 73 from a gross 94 playing off a 21 handicap. Mohanlall Dinanauth recorded the lowest gross of 76 playing with a one handicap.
Patrick Prashad was Nearest to the Pin.
Mohan Harnanan, Toolsie Persaud Hardware Manager, who represented the company, offered congratulations to the players.
Officials of the Lusignan Golf Club expressed pleasure in welcoming Toolsie Persaud Group on board as a major tournament sponsor.
Meanwhile, the golfers will be in action again this weekend in the Continental Group of Companies Medal Play tournament starting at 12:30 hours.
