Dear Editor,
Kindly allow me the space in your publication to air what I consider as facts.
My history in this part of Eden, began with the arrival of my great grandfather, age 10, and his mom just past her teen’s rescued under the labour trade, by the British East India Company from the oppressive and punishing system of the ‘Rajas’ of India, in the year 1881, centuries before the degradation of our class and cast began.
On arrival in Guyana (British Guiana) my indentured ancestors and their kind, along with the descendants of the earlier African slave trade, laboured from dawn to dust, mostly as plantation labourers.
Then after a few centuries, our collective fore parents’ masters saw it reasonable to grant our kind self governance, through the process of political independence, 83,000 square miles of splendorous geography, a sound education system, all in one, a better system than what we have today, beginning from our independence, as a free people, along all racial bloc.
We have and continue to embrace all the ancient traditions of our collective ancestors that cause us all to be here in the first place; nostalgic memories of ancient cultures long proven useless in a 21st century universe.
Our collective colonial masters after almost 50 years of our independence, continue to be there for us, as intelligent parents do, even tolerating our ungratefulness way too much, and most important, they made the best selection when they save this nation from the road to Stalingrad and thereafter the seed of racial division was planted, and the explosion of necessary heritage, implanted into the psyche of a free people; people who should have, and must embrace the benefits and progress of the unencumbered Westminster Constitution.
My entire existence as a citizen of this Independent Nation is one of troubles and political fears, while all our nation’s head-of-state, is the best, at his or her time in office, the perverts and administrative infiltrator or as President Jagan lament, “the square pegs, in round holes”, in there multitudes, they are the new shackles on this nation citizens.
They master the art of semantics and they are shameless more than the citizens they prostitute on Sheriff Street and the country at large.
After the exit of L. F. S. Burnham our land was blessed by the entry of Mr. H. D. Hoyte, a man who saw the ups and downs of our country’s economy, our first democratic practitioner, and nation short lived President, who with openness, was courageous enough to employ the then unrecognised and present President of our Republic Dr. B. Jagdeo, at his State Planning Secretariat. Those and other acts prove the man’s intentions for this nation exceeds political cronyism. But by October 5th of 1992, the result of the general election, surprised every person in the know, prompting ex-US president Jimmy Carter to lament about the way the votes were cast, actually surprising even Dr. Jagan and creating a shock throughout our dear land, catapulting the Stalinist advocate out of 28 years of political wilderness into the most responsible seat of political leadership, and with microscopic foresight, that man retain the slickest mind on the national economical platform, that man was none other than the eraser, of the PNC incurred national foreign debt, our President, President Jagdeo who was selected, nurtured and groom out of the multitude of prominent Jaganites, who was eventually chosen by President Janet even above her own flesh and blood.
These presidential selections is proof that a larger intellect is at work, and as a nation in economic stagnation, it is soon time for us, and our outgoing President to open our collective intellect and select our next President, with the wisdom of a sage, and foresight of all our presidents, him who must be chosen, is in every way one of a kind, and like the only Kaieteur, he is strong and ever flowing, resourceful yet patient, a respecter of human rights, and a protector of females, and a upholder of the sacred union of matrimony. This man is a lifelong teetotaller, and is a legitimate tax payer, on the road of social misadventure and political perversions, this man is a lone objector, and above all, this man is known, and resemble every common citizen throughout this land, and for these reasons and many more, this man is this nation only hope if ever we are to stop polishing our alms bowl, with handout, from our colonial masters.
Finally, our next president have withstood every attack ever launch against him by his fellow citizens, even when they have always enjoy political cushioning, this man is a giant amongst dwarfs, this man is majestic and alone, like the languishing Kaieteur, put together the energy would brighten this nation political desolation. Hail the man.
Let’s face the present, build our future and move this Republic into her rightful place into the first world group of nations. Let this rich nation embrace this man, who is one of a kind. Similar as the creator’s gift to us – our Kaieteur.
