Minister within the Public Service Ministry Dr. Jennifer Westford was officially chosen and accepted as the Patron of Women’s football in Guyana.
During a simple ceremony at halftime in the CFU World Cup qualifying encounter between Suriname and St. Vincent at the GCC ground, Minister Westford was presented with a ‘Lady Jaguars’ jersey and a Guyana Football Federation (GFF) token by President of the entity Colin Klass in the presence of Guyana’s female national team and officials.
Minister Westford then met with the team and engaged them in a pep talk, urging the team to make Guyana proud tomorrow when they face nemesis Suriname in their opening match of the tournament. She promised her support in the future.
