Several persons had to be rushed yesterday at the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment after the minibus in which they were travelling turned turtle.
Reports are that the incident occurred some time after 14:00 hours as the minibus BLL 9747 was heading toward the city.
Eyewitnesses say that the minibus was travelling at a very fast rate. Somehow, the driver lost control and the vehicle flipped over at least twice.
When the minibus came to screeching halt public spirited citizens ran to the assistance of the injured and rushed them to the hospital.
Among those injured are the driver of the minibus Kevin Ward, Natalie Padmore, Utton Kumar, Marcia Major, Ronda Abrams, Obrien Smith, Huborne Mc Phoy, William Knights, Bevon Hector, Beverly King, Simone King, Keisha Harding, Lorrain Dawson, Sharon Ezekiel and 1 year-old Felecia Davis.
Up to press time all of the injured were at the Georgetown Public Hospital. It is not clear how many of the injured were admitted to the institution. The minibus has since been taken to the Beterverwagting Police Station as police continued their investigation.
