A team of five males within the ages of 5 to 35 years from The Harpy Eagle Martial Arts Academy under the supervision of Sensei Troy Bobb Sr. have once again return home victoriously after attending a Martial Arts Festival that was hosted by the Association of Professional Martial
Artists at the Rex Hotel in Rodney Bay, St Lucia.
A release from the organisation informed that, the participants are from different annexes to the Harpy Eagle Martial Arts Academy. Lozaro and Kemo Scott are from Apex Karate Club and David Murray is from Beterverwagting Karate Club. These clubs are under direct training from Sensei Troy Bobb Sr. and Romeo A. DeFreitas Jr. is from Uitvlugt Shotokan Karate Club, which is instructed by Premchand Motilall with overall supervision from Sensei Troy Bobb Sr.
Out of an average of 250 participants, coming from The USA, England, Japan, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Guyana and the host country St Lucia, the five from Guyana participated in 4 different divisions.
Despite the limited number of Guyanese, they were able to acquire 10 Gold Medals, 4 Silvers and 2 Bronze. As a complementary to the trip the Guyanese had the pleasure of meeting with movie actor Bill Wallace.

The release also informed that the Harpy Eagles have been invited to participate from March 25 to 28 in the US Karate Alliance 2010 National Tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA.
The Harpy Eagles are expressing sincere gratitude to the residents of Buxton and Beterverwagting (BV) Villages, the parents for 3 of the children, the Director of Apex Academy Mr. Shazad Alli and Director of Sports Mr. Neil Kumar, without whose generous support the trip to St Lucia would not have been a reality and a successful event and they are looking forward for more continued support.
