– school board asks Ministry to transfer violent student
Two violent incidents at separate schools have ended up in the courts with the alleged culprits being charged with unlawful wounding.
On Wednesday, a 14-year-old from Tutorial High School appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s court, where he was charged with wounding another student, 15-years-old.
The accused was placed on $50,000 bail and is to return to court on March 24.
It is alleged that on February 5, the accused stabbed Daniels in the back with a sharpened implement and also struck the lad on the forehead with a piece of wood.
Kaieteur News has learnt that the Tutorial High School Board has since written Minister of Education, Shaik Baksh, requesting that the teen be transferred.
A source said that the alleged attacker has not returned to school since the incident.
And last week, a 13-year-old student from Lodge Community High was charged with unlawfully wounding another 13-year-old.
It is alleged that the accused, who was armed with a pair of scissors, stabbed Rawle King in the vicinity of his temple.
According to reports, the victim and the accused were gambling at the back of the school during classes, when one f the lads became annoyed after losing $20.
The alleged attacker was also placed on $50,000 bail and is to return to court on March 23.
