Football clubs on the East Coast of Demerara will swing back into top gear from this afternoon when the 2009 Ansa McAl sponsored Premier League resumes.
Given the opportunity to set the pace for the rest of the first round are Mahaica who will lock horns with Victoria Kings at the Victoria ground from 16:00hrs this afternoon.
Mahaica will start as favorites since they are second in the point’s standings one point behind leaders BV on 8.
Victoria, aiming to return to the glory days when they were once regarded as the top side from the East will be gunning to start the season on a winning note. They are on 5 points from 3 matches, one game less than their opponents this afternoon.
Home advantage they will have to make count for them but the visitors will not be intimidated. An exciting encounter is anticipated.
