Special committee to deal with overall growth of cyclists
Brian Allen has been returned as President of the Roraima Bikers Club (RBC) for the 5th consecutive year following elections on Saturday last.
According to Allen, the new committee which will have its first meeting sometime next week will focus much of its energies on the holistic development of its members.
To this end a Special Committee headed by First Vice President Hon. Desmond Burchsmith (Retired Judge) has been appointed to guide, council and prepare the cyclists to successfully face the challenges life will offer.
With regard to the development of the riders on the track, Allen said they are mulling the possibility of having exchange programmes in place with some of their sister clubs within the Caribbean.
“These clubs will facilitate our riders with training and exposure at higher level of competition both on the road and track/veledrome. We also have plans to increase our clubs’ financial status significantly, so that we will be able to field
teams at major cycling events in the Caribbean.”
Popular Businessman George W. Humphrey, Managing Director of Humphrey’s Bakery & Farm Products has been retained as Club Patron.
The full executive reads; Brian A. Allen (President), Desmond Burchsmith (1st Vice President), Mark Conway (2nd Vice President), Marlon Humphrey (3rd Vice President), Theresa Pemberton (Secretary), Royston Anderson (Treasurer), Lynette Haynes (Assistant Secretary/Treasurer), Darren A. Allen (Club Captain), Committee Members (Clifford Johnson, Christopher Marques, Royston Wright, Andrew Spencer). The Linden representatives are George Emmerson and Samuel Barker.
