National Qaseeda competition slated for March 7

– Guest artistes expected from Suriname, T & T

The Anna Catherina Islamic Complex will be the venue for the eighth consecutive year, for the Annual National Qaseeda (Muslim Songs in praise of Prophet Muhammad (SAS) Singing Competition to be held on Sunday, March 7. Competition will be in four categories—Male Senior & Junior and Female—Senior & Junior.
Successful contestants in each category will represent Guyana at the International Qaseeda Mehfil to be hosted in Trinidad & Tobago during the Easter weekend this year. Guyana hosted the International event last year.
Expected at the National Qaseeda Competition are guest artistes from Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago and representatives from the Muslim organizations there.
Prizes and awards will be presented to successful contestants.
The Committee is advising persons interested in participating to contact their respective Imams for application forms and rules or direct from the Secretariat, Anna Catherina Islamic Complex, Tel: 276-0031 or email: [email protected].
The event is organized again by The Muslim Youth League of Guyana, The Guyana United Sadr Islamic Anjuman and The Anna Catherina Islamic Complex.
