Fruta Conquerors and Pele will contest the championship match of the 2009 DeSinco Trading sponsored Georgetown Football Association (GFA) competition following victories over Santos and Sunburst Camptown on Sunday morning.
Conquerors blanked Santos 3-2 while Pele came from behind to defeat hosts Camptown by the odd goal in three.
Santos, who had stunned Alpha United in their quarter-final encounter, could not repeat that feat against the solid and experienced Conquerors outfit. Eon Allen from the penalty spot in the first half and second half goals by Ryan Lawrence and Keifa Adams was enough to guide their team to victory and a chance to win the championship.
At the Camptown ground in Campbellville, the home team cantered into the lead 11 minutes into the encounter via an Akeem Moore goal.
But Pele through a 27th minute strike by Omallo ‘Mow’ Williams leveled the score in a closely fought game.
Pele gained the winning goal in the 63rd minute through a Kevin Benjamin blast.
The third place game and final will be contested at a date and venue to be decided.
