The Guyanese pair of Deon Ferrier and Kellon Carmichael spearheaded Aranguez Sports Club to a 125-run victory against Queens Park in the opening round of the National Carib Sunday League 50-over cricket competition in Trinidad.
Aranguez rattled up 284 with Ferrier, a Guyana First-Class player, top scoring with an attractive 76 in his first overseas season.
A Fire Officer in Guyana, the right-handed Malteenoes player set the place on fire with an entertaining array of shots and got wonderful support from Kevon Pierre who made 74.
Carmichael, a former Guyana Under-19 all rounder who plays for the Guyana Defence Force struck with the first ball of the Queens Park innings when he bowled Uthman Mohamed as the opener played no shot to an inswinger and lost his off stump. Queens Park were eventually bowled out for 159 with Keanu King grabbing 4-59 and Carmichael 3-26.
