Essequibo trio charged with rape, sodomy

The three young men who allegedly brutally gang raped a 46-year-old mother of six on December 29, were further remanded to prison by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty, after they made a second appearance at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Satesh Singh, Errol Ramrattan and a 16-year-old, all of the Li’l Red Village, Onderneeming Housing Scheme, were jointly charged on January 4, for carnal knowledge and sodomy.
According to the victim, who tearfully related what she described as her worst ordeal, recalled that while venturing to her home at Li’l Red Village, Onderneeming Housing Scheme she saw three persons assaulting an old man.
She said that upon inquiring she recognised the man as one Jailall and shouted on the aggressors to stop. She related that the men saw her and immediately two of them rushed towards her and pointed guns to her head.
According to the woman, they grabbed her around the waist and ordered her to go into the bushes. She said the other man, who was not masked and whom she recognized, brought the man they were beating in the bushes also.
With guns pointed at her, the men ordered her to strip off her clothes while the “old man” known was forced to lie face down.
She said two of the men gang raped her several times and forced her to per form oral sex on them.
She said after the men were finished, they ordered her to lie on top of the old man face down while she was stamped in the back.
This newspaper was told that the victim who wants the young men to receive extreme penalty of the law has evacuated the Li’l Red village area and now resides at Henrietta village with her niece.
The woman said she is living with flashbacks from her ordeal. The trio is scheduled to make another appearance in May 2010.
