The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) yesterday donated a television set and a DVD player to St. Sidwell’s Primary as part of developing phonics, and education in general, at all levels in the institution. According to the school’s Head Mistress, Donna Morgan, through the Interactive Radio Instruction (IRI), which is a step forward into the digital age, there has been major development in the ability of students to learn because of the visual and audio lessons such as phonics, which stimulates the literacy level to a higher degree.
