Dear Editor,
It is puzzling to me how some elements of society can continue to spew the filth that they do on a daily basis yet still continue to call this administration a dictatorship, much less an “elected dictatorship”.
This is the kind of bizarre reasoning we have in this society; people are allowed the freedom to express their dissatisfaction and their disgruntlement with the present and even past administrations, yet still they choose to take this freedom and express their unfounded and totally ludicrous opinions that this administration is stifling freedom of the press, freedom of speech and freedom in every which form.
If this were the case; take for instance a country like China, which is unashamedly a Communist society; in Guyana would the commentators, political, social and other media personalities be allowed the laissez-faire treatment they enjoy at present to air their views freely if Guyana were a dictatorship?
One questions the reasoning of the people who espouse these absurd views that Guyana is a dictatorship.
