Dear Editor,
In the past, the order of the male dominated world was fueled by man’s ‘adventuristic’ nature, competitiveness and the need to earn to support their progeny.
Men were the providers, care-takers, protectors and leaders of their respective households.
Each in his own way, according to orientation whether by religion or society at large. Of course, there were abuses, transgression, oppression, suppression of rights, but more often than not, marriages were unions of necessity; combining the tender caring, compassionate and maternal instincts of the woman with the adventurous, intuitive, risk taking, wine-drinking, robust nature of the man. The more women under his care, the more aggressive man became, thinking that through this aggression he will accomplish more.
This image was fostered by society, where men weren’t supposed to cry or show emotion that maybe construed as weakness.
The woman was the protected specie who became the prize for the victor in any clash of tribes, nations or communities.
In the modern world and its new order, traditional families are being decimated by the many newly concocted forms of union.
The male in his past “programmed-self” becomes confused with the new rules governing relationships.
No more is the man the head of the home. His woman/women don’t have to cook, clean or care for him. He is expected to share his right of rulership with rebellious and mutinous women hell bent on proving the levels of testosterone in their blood.
This new family structure of same sex marriages, shared equal responsibility of live-in arrangements, de-emphasising the role of the man, has worked successfully.
Men have lost focus, motivation and will to succeed because his victory is shallow and meaningless since he has no one home to acknowledge his sacrifices, will or accomplishments.
Women attend schools, universities and other institutions of higher learning in larger numbers. They are hence more qualified and better suited in qualifications and temperament for the existing jobs. They are paid less than a male counterpart because more women compete for the same job, therefore decreasing their value.
They expose themselves to harassment, victimization, triangular love affairs, un-wanted pregnancies, infidelity because they are now caught up in the vicious cycle of life and its dependence on employment.
Simultaneously, men have abdicated their responsibilities of leaders and guides under public and societal pressure of equality.
Men are more frustrated because the rules to which they have become familiar and mastered, are now revolutionized. Man is now expected to be co-leader, co-worker, co-helper in household chores; co-cook, co-cleaner, co-washer, among newly invented responsibilities. The end result of these and other changes have manifested themselves in the social ills being presently experienced in all societies across the world. Violent attacks on women whom we are suppose to love and protect, predominance of single parent households, mostly women and no financial support to women or children resulting from the lustful carefree sexual exploits of a night of reveling.
The answer my fellow citizens lies in, the manual of operative procedures of human interaction authored by the creator; “His guidance”.
Within the revelation, all pragmatic solutions are stipulated.
Let’s live by the laws of God!
