Seven races are carded for the Rising Sun Turf Club Pre-Mashramani Horse Race Meeting which is scheduled to take place this Sunday, February 21, at the club’s facility, Bush Lot West Coast Berbice.
According to a release, the feature event will be the ‘C’ and Lower with a first prize of $600,000, while runner-up receives $300,000, 3rd place $150,000 and 4th place $75,000.
Most of the country’s top owners and trainers have already signalled their intentions to participate in the one-day event which will have on show most of the best horses in the country.
The full programme for the day is:
F & Lower over 1300 metres with a 1st prize of $150,000, 2nd $75,000, 3rd $35,000 and 4th $18,000;
G & Lower over 1100 M- 1st prize $120,000, 2nd $60,000, 3rd $30,000 and 4th $15,000;
I & Lower over 1100 M- 1st prize $100,000, 2nd $50,000, 3rd $25,000 and 4th $12,000;
Division 1 & 2 over 1300M- 1st $90,000, 2nd $45,000, 3rd $22,000 and 4th $11,000;
Division 3 over 1100 M- 1st $80,000, 2nd $40,000, 3rd $20,000 and 4th $10,000;
‘C’ & Lower over 1600M- 1st $600,000, 2nd $300,000, 3rd $150,000 and 4th $75,000 and
3 year-old (Guyana and WI bred) over 1300 M- 1st $250,000, 2nd $125,000, 3rd $60,000 and 4th $30,000.

Apart from the prize monies on offer, the Most Outstanding Jockey will receive the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market Trophy.
