Dear Editor,
I comment on Mr. Ralph Ramkarran’s statement concerning overseas voting.
The PPP was against the overseas voting during the PNC regime and now Mr. Ramkarran, a leading member of the ruling party wants to hand this to the Guyanese electorate.
Well, Mr. Ramkarran, true enough we have cash coming from friends and relatives but since they have chosen other countries as their homeland, they shouldn’t be involved in our local voting process.
Another issue is that the government of the day wants overseas-based Guyanese to reside in Guyana for two continuous years before you can be entitled to Public Assistance. Is this another way to return the PPP to power?
