Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform, Robert Corbin, on Thursday last said that the party will be closely monitoring the $6.15B that has been allocated for the Office of the President under the title Low Carbon Development Programmes.
The accompanying legend says that the money is a provision for low carbon development initiatives.
The money, according to the project profile, states that it is not foreign funding and will be undertaken by the Central Government.
The project profile states that the monies will be used to finance the construction of the access road to the Amaila Falls and related construction works; Amerindian development projects and programmes including land demarcation; small business grants and technical assistance and institutional strengthening.
The benefits of the project are listed as; improved access to Amaila Falls; Community development and facilitating implementation of the Low Carbon Development Strategy.
All of the employees skilled and unskilled to benefit from the programmes will be contracted. The duration of the project is two years and is expected to come to a conclusion on December 31, 2011.
