Floodlights A&B teams will begin their quest for the 2010 Florida Cup 25-over softball trophy from today in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The A team combination will face off with defending champions New York at the Brian Piccolo Park, while the B side will clash with South Florida. Both matches are expected to commence at 9:00hrs.
Following the completion of these two games, the action will resume at 13:00hrs with another two games at the same venue playing simultaneously.
The A side will play for the Masters Cup, while the B team will be challenging in the open category.
Both teams had their final practice sessions at the Browar Park, Fort Lauderdale yesterday morning and skipper of the A team, Ricky Deonarain expressed confidence his players will make a big impression from today.
Jailall Deodass, the leader of the B team, also shared similar sentiments.
The preliminary round ends tomorrow, while the final is set for Sunday at the Fort Lauderdale cricket Stadium.
A team reads: Ricky Deonarain (Captain), Lakhram Singh, Rahaman Khan, Ramchand Ragbeer, Ravendra Mandolall, Bedi Ramjewan, Steve Narine, Ganesh Singh, Richard Persaud (WKP), Patrick Khan, Eshwar Persaud and Alex Pooran.
B team reads: Jailall Deodass, Pitamber Maharaj, Gopaul Bojraj, Surendranauth Nauth, Roy Kirton, Wilfred White, Anil Manickchand, Mahadeo Dudnauth, Harishchand Ketwaroo, Jerry Gaznabbi, Jagdesh Tulshi, Ray Amnay and Narinedat Roy.
