Yesterday’s issue of this newspaper carried an article headlined ‘Rising from the ashes; is the Peter Abdool initiative workable?’
During the debate, the author of the article inadvertently stated that the executives of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control extracted one third of the boxers’ purse to facilitate any unforeseen injury or any other relevant expenses incurred by the boxer.
What should have, in fact, been reported was that the sum extracted from the boxers’ purses was three percent (3%). We wish to apologize for any embarrassment that may have been experienced by the executives of the GBBC.
