Businessman robbed on Agricola public road

Police have detained a suspect who is believed to be one of two gunmen that attacked and robbed a businessman on the Agricola public road at around 14:15 hrs yesterday.
A release said that the businessman was on the thoroughfare waiting for transportation when he was held up by two men armed with handguns.
The men took away his personal jewellery valued at $180,000, a cell phone and $47,000 in cash.
They then fled west of the public road. The release said that shortly after, the victim observed the two robbers crossing the public road and going into Agricola.
A report was made to the police who responded quickly and ranks of a mobile patrol went into Agricola where they arrested a man who was found in a house. He was positively identified by the victim as one of the robbers.
The suspect was detained and will be charged shortly.
