Dear Editor,
I have noted all of the responses and personal attacks directed at me in the last days and put it all down to the usual political drivel.
Quite amusing is that some of those leading the pack never had the courage to lead a party into an election. I will ignore it all and not respond.
I wish to share with them a piece of scripture that I have come to place great reliance on: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2)
However, I do wish to separate Dr. Surujbally from the pack and to thank him for providing so much valuable information on the upcoming elections in his reply to the AFC.
Now I am sure more Guyanese have some knowledge of what GECOM has in store for us. I do wish to remind the good Doctor however, that as Chairman of the “independent” Elections Commissions he is expected to deliver free, fair and transparent elections without showing favour or bias for or against any political party or its leadership.
Against this background, some of the words used in his response such as “tragi-comic and shameless” are a cause for serious concern and have not gone unnoticed; especially, when he was not attacked in any shape or form, but was commended.
