Eccles Sports Club will battle Wales Sports Club for the Countryside Agri Centre trophy in a feature 30-over cricket match at the Canal Number 2 ground from 12 noon tomorrow.
President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Chetram Singh and GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie are in the Wales team which also include Chairman of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) Competitions Committee Kawall Mangal.
The DCB’s PRO Rovin Stanley will also try his hand at cricket and along with businessman Salim Azeez of New Line Aqua Farm will also play for the West Demerara line up.
Raj Singh, the DCB Secretary, will appear for the Eccles cricket team along with former Guyana batsman and East Bank Cricket Association (EBCA) President Rohan Sarjoo. EBCA Vice-President, Johnny Azeez and other EBCA executive members Rudy Jairam and Nigel Bissu.
Cricket enthusiast Ray Persaud of R & W Super Centre and UNITECH in Eccles is the Manager of the Eccles team while Mangal will perform similar duties for the West Bank Demerara side.
Trophies will be at stake for the Man-of- the Match and best player on both teams and the sponsor, Lalta Digamber will be on hand to make the presentations.
The Official Scorer is Eon Washington while the Match Referee is Dr. Kamrul Bacchus and the Umpires Andrew Alleyne and Omar Hussein
