National U-15 player Ricardo Adams and Kemol Savory hit half centuries as the Guyana Cricket Board 50 overs U-15 cricket competition continued recently in Essequibo with two zone B matches.
At the Wakenaam Community Centre Ground in Good Success, the home team defeated East Bank Essequibo by 4 wickets. The visitors batted first and made 131 before they were all out in 39 overs.
Mark Gonsalves top scored with 39 and Keenan Foster made 15 as left arm spinner Moin Khan and medium pacer Mohamed Hassan grabbed three wickets each. Left handed Adams then let the Wakenaam reply with 60 while opener Rashaad Rasheed supported with 25 as they won the game in 15.3 overs ending on 133-6. Leg Spinner Kemol Savory bagged 5-11 for the East Bank team.
At Dennison Park in Leguan, East Bank got the better of the home team by 38 runs.
The visitors took first turn at the crease and managed 161 all out in 38 overs. Kemol Savory scored 50 and R. Smith made 22. Saif Hemraj bagged 3-18 for Leguan who in reply were bowled out for 123 in 29 overs. Sunil Persaud was their leading run getter with an even half century as Mark Gonsalves picked up 3-13 for the winners.
