Pulsating football is anticipated this evening when the Mayor Hamilton Green 75th birthday 7-a-side inter-club knockout football tournament resumes with Wales and Mocha battling from 18:00hrs at the Tucville ground under lights in preliminary action.
After a break for the Christmas holiday and the Kashif and Shanghai national tournament, fans could be in for a treat as the action resumes this evening.
Ten matches, including what are expected to be 2 scorching hot Quarter-final encounters from 22:00hrs and 22:30hrs respectively should provide plenty of entertainment for the fans.
Most of the Country’s leading footballers are expected to be on show in the annual competition which continues on Sunday night with 10 more matches including 2 more Quarter-final games.
In this evening’s action, Goed Fortune face YMCA in the 2nd game from 18:30hrs before Den Amstel battle Sophia, Uitvlugt take on FC Alliance, Crane face-off with Festival City, Sea Wall oppose Tucville, Agricola play Pouderoyen and Grove match skills with Charlotte Street.
Pele and Uprising battle in the first Quarter-final of the night before Conquerors play Riddim Star in the other Quarter-final this evening.
Sunday’s Quarter-finals will feature K&S Champions Western Tigers baring their claws against Crane from 22:00hrs and Alpha will hope to nullify GDF’s artillery half-an hour later after the 8 supporting games.
In Sunday’s supporting games, Middle Road play Majestics, Lepold Street take on Mahaica, Upper Level face Cork Tree, West Side play BV, Kitty battle Golden Grove, Kingston oppose Victoria, Campbellville come up against Buxton and Tiger Bay play Houston.
