Thieves broke into the Money Gram office at New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, and reportedly stole a safe containing $3.3M.
The discovery was made at around 08:45 hours yesterday and the police have since launched an investigation.
According to the police the locks to the outer door of the premises were cut and the office door prized open.
Meanwhile, at about 15:45 hours on Monday police ranks conducted a search on a house at Westminster , Parfait Harmonie, on the West Bank of Demerara and found an unlicensed .22 pistol with 3 matching rounds and an unlicensed .38 revolver with six matching rounds.
Three women and a man were arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
