Briefing will immediately follow
The Dirt Bike riders that will vie for supremacy in the Championship Series will test-ride their bikes at the Mecca of Grass Track racing, the Ogle Community Centre Ground, this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s final race meeting.
Kaieteur Sport understands that some of the best riders in Guyana will be revving up their machines this afternoon in the community to get acquainted with the ground as was done at the two previous race meetings late last year.
“We want the riders to have a feel of the ground and it will be good for the community to come out and get a taste of what will happen on Sunday (tomorrow),” Sheik Yaseen said yesterday, adding that he anticipates a large crowd. Andy Rajkarran leads the professional group while junior sensation, Junior Da Silva has a clear lead in the novices’ category. The other riders are looking to overhaul them in what would become a remarkable upset if accomplished.
The two Dirt Bikers cemented their respective leads in the two categories of the first two meetings of the ‘Grass Track’ Championship Series. Both of them are expected at Ogle in the practice activity after confirming participation.
Rajkarran and Da Silva had dominated the first meet at Hampton Court, Essequibo and in a similar fashion, the duo returned to hijack most of the attention at the second meeting of the three-race series at Port Mourant in December.
This newspapers understands that the session is scheduled for between 4-7pm after which a briefing will be held with promotion group ‘De Ambassadors’, which is responsible for hosting the anticipated colossal showdown tomorrow.
The Rajkarran duo, Andy and Raj, Vassie Barry, Andrew Wong, Terrence Clarke, Alvin Balgobin, Dave Gangadin and the Da Silva brothers are all confirmed for the Banks DIH and ‘De Ambassadors’ meet at the Ogle ground from 12pm.
Regal Stationery and Computer Centre, Ray Auto Spares, Guyadin Construction, Andrew Arts, BM Soat Auto Sales, Full Works Motor Spares, RRT Enterprise, Crazy Auto Work, Builders Lumber Yard, Keith Ramnarine, Swiss House Cambio and Five Star Appliances are among the major sponsors of the race meeting.
