– five overseas-based players included
The Guyana Rugby Football Union have selected twelve players including five based overseas to represent Guyana at the upcoming IRB International Sevens Series which takes place in Las Vegas, USA from February 13-14.
The Guyanese have been drawn in Group A along with powerhouses New Zealand, Australia and France, while Pool B contains Fiji, South Africa, USA, Canada; Pool C- Samoa, Kenya, Scotland, Chile and Pool D- England, Argentina, Wales and Japan.

Those called are Claudius Butts (Captain), Ryan Gonsalves, Peabo Hamilton, Richard Staglon (Trinidad and Tobago-based), Theodore Henry, Dwayne Schroeder, Ronald Mayers, Walter George, Rupert Giles, Dominic Lespierre and Kevin McKenzie (UK-based) and Albert LaRose (Canada-based).
The Union have also called six players to be on standby and they are: Ryan Hinckson, Troy Bascom, Elwin Chase, Christopher Singh, Robin Cordis and Leon Greaves.
Meanwhile the team continues practice sessions at the National Park under the guidance of Head Coach Laurie Adonis and he is being assisted by Clinton Clarke.
