Dear Editor,
As a Guyanese living overseas, it is exciting to return to my country of birth – but after 17 years to see that the rock and gully road between Linden via Ituni to Kwakwani still exists is horrendous.
This road is not comforting for pregnant women, older seniors, babies or even patients being transferred for medical attention.
When the weather is sunny and the road is dry, it is very dusty. When the rain falls, there are numerous small islands for vehicles to maneuver to cross over.
The drivers who make their livelihood plying this route daily are remarkably skillful and courageous to continue this service to these communities.
Can someone in authority recognise the people who live in these communities deserve a decent road transportation service as they are also a part of the Republic of Guyana.
