Fibre Optic intensifies preparations as well
Not wanting to be outdone, the GT&T Ladies from Telephone House commonly known as ‘Fibre Optic’ (Lightning Speed) have also intensified preparations ahead of their showdown tomorrow evening under floodlights against Customer Services ‘Supa Nova’ for the Sonita Jagan Trophy and bragging rights.
The clash forms part of the Telecommunication Company’s 19th Anniversary celebrations and Fibre Optic which has recruited well known international umpire Eddie Nichols to spearhead their preparations conducted batting, bowling and fielding drills last Saturday, at the Police Sports Club ground.
According to one of the players this was in response to the well publicised practice session that rivals ‘Supa Nova’ conducted the previous day at the GNIC ground on Woolford Avenue.
The match which starts at 17:00 hrs is anticipated to be a keenly contested affair and word is that many of the Company’s top brass are expected to be on hand to witness the contest.
