The hype surrounding the clash between Customer Services and Telephone House to celebrate the Guyana Telecommunication & Telegraph Company’s 19th Anniversary intensified yesterday with both teams staging practice sessions at different venues.
Kaieteur Sport visited the sessions at the GNIC ground where the ladies from Customer Services going under the alias ‘Supa Nova’ worked under the guidance of First Division cricketer Collis Butts.
The ladies were engaged in batting, bowling and fielding exercises, before participating in a practice match, all in preparation for their eagerly anticipated match-up against Telephone House’s ‘Fibre Optic (Lightning Speed) on Tuesday under floodlights at the DCC ground.
The game will be played for the Sonita Jagan Trophy and word is that the Ladies from both locations are taking the contest seriously since bragging rights are at stake.
The clash is expected to start at 17:00 hrs.
Meanwhile, ‘Supa Nova’ has released a shortlist of its team which the final XI will be chosen from.
Those named are: Ashika Thompson (Captain), Marcia Best (Vice-Captain), Juan Simone, Louella Blair, Pauline Critchlow, Daun Elias, Lean Abrams, Lorie Primo, Rupa Dukhia, Yolande McKenzie, Alisia Semple, Michella Isaacs, Otesha Jackman and Dawn Caines.
