RHT Gizmos & Gadgets face Bermine; Albion take on Young Warriors
Two exciting and close matches are expected when the semi-finals of the Peter Lewis/Associated Construction Services Under-23 tournament are contested tomorrow.
Young Warriors are set to face Albion, while Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets will clash with Bermine, the respective winners will meet in the final.
At the Cumberland ground in Canje, first division power houses Young Warriors will host Albion. The home team’s strong batting lineup will feature Berbice opener Richard Ramdeen, the exciting Farouk Hussain, Wahied Edwards, national Under-19 Seon Hetmyer, Riaz Kassim and Daryl Narine. Medium pacers Devendra Ramoutar and Seon Hetmyer leads the bowling attack with support from offspinner Hussain, Narine, Linden Austin and left arm spinner Ramdeen.
Albion would depend heavily on Harrinarine Chattergoon, Manoj Pooranauth, K. Surujnarine, Andy Mohan and Shailendra Hardyal. Their bowling is spin based and includes national Under-15 left arm Gudakesh Motie Kanhai, offspinner Veerapen Permaul, Satish Dwarka, Chattergoon and the impressive medium pacer Hardyal.
At the Area ‘H’ ground, RHT Gizmos & Gadgets charge for victory will be led by Berbice Under-19 player Eon Hooper who will fine able support in the batting department from Dominic Rickey, Jason Sinclair, Clinton Pestano, Trevon Thomas, Terrence Madramootoo, Shawn Perreira with medium pacer Madramootoo and Pestano expected to share the new ball backed up off spinners Troy Mathieson, Eon Hooper, Loyden Lewis; leg spinners Damon Vantull and Shawn Perreira.
Bermine, who created a huge upset over Port Mourant in their quarter final, would not be any walk over. Their batting would be spearheaded by Andrew Williams, Keon Joseph, Joemal La Fleur, Trenton Henry and Jamally Odle while in the bowling will be in the capable hands of Troy Mickle, Andrew Williams and Andel De Jonge.
All matches starts at 09.30 hours. The final is scheduled for Sunday January 31 at the Area ‘H’ ground.
