Following Leon ‘Hurry Up’ Moore’s scintillating victory over Indonesian, Marangin ‘Dinamita’ Marbun in Malaysia earlier this month, the executives of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) has joined the rest of the nation in extending congratulations to the new champ. To this effect, GABA, through its Secretary, Sean Richmond has dispatched a letter to Moore’s manager, Carwyn Holland, relaying the joy of being a part of such a momentous occasion.
Moore recently fought in Malaysia and earned victory over Marabun to cart off the WBA (PABA) Super/bantamweight crown. His manager, Carwyn Holland recently revealed that Moore will be in Guyana for the Holland’s Enterprise Promotions ‘New Year’s Beatings’ this month end. The letter to Moore reads:
The executive members and affiliates of the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association {GABA} join with the Guyanese public in extending warmest congratulations to you and your management team, on your recent scintillating victory over Asian fighter, Marangin ‘Dinamita’ Marbun for the World Boxing Association (WBA) PABA Super Bantamweight Title.
In adding this prestigious accolade to your collection, there is no doubt that you earned the tab of being a source of inspiration for local fighters. Rest assured that the momentousness of your achievement would inspire much discussion in the months and years ahead. It must be underlined, also, that our admiration for your accomplishments has been felt and received by all of us within the amateur boxing fraternity, with a sense of personal elation and national pride. Please accept our heartiest congratulations for your success.
