A Wakenaam labourer narrowly escaped death yesterday when a tree he was cutting fell and pinned him to the ground.
Twenty-two year-old Satish Hansraj was rushed to the West Demerara Hospital where he remains a patient with broken bones.
Hansraj, known as Rohan, was cutting trees aback of Bendorff Village, Wakenaam Island, when the tree fell pinning him to the ground.
A colleague rushed to his assistance and using a chainsaw freed Hansraj.
The man suffered injuries to his hands, feet, hip and back.
