– ahead of schools’ team tourney next week
The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) will host a two-day umpires’ workshop at the Malteenoes Sports Club this weekend ahead of the Business School-sponsored Teams Schools’ Table Tennis Tournament that begins next week.
The workshop is aimed at improving the relationship of officials, developing partnerships among various sectors of table tennis in Guyana, promoting and creating health through table tennis and participation in recreational aspects.
The clinic will also address the basic areas of umpiring table tennis, improving the base of umpires in the sport and the testing of current umpires’ knowledge of the sport. It will begin at 9am on both days until sessions are completed.
GTTA General Secretary, Godfrey Munroe, National Coach, Linden Johnson and Morton Blake will conduct sessions of the workshop, which is a collaborative endeavour with the National Sports Commission and Youth Challenge Guyana.
