Dear Editor,
I commend Kaieteur News for reporting on the death of Tricia Winth and her baby girl, at the Mackenzie Hospital on Boxing Day.
Mr. Gums the CEO of the hospital, suggested on national television that relatives are incorrect, in their conclusion of the matter, while an investigation is in progress, goes to show his intention to sweep the matter under the carpet.
It is a fact that the theatre could not be used, when the hospital was declared open. The minister confessed to the public that the hospital which was to operate as a State of the Art facility is not equipped with the basic equipment and personnel to handle serious cases, if otherwise, why attempt to take her to Georgetown?
This matter can result can be rewarding for all concerned, if we proceed in a democratic way – responsive, caring and responsible.
