Digicel customers find $1.9M to conclude Merry Mansion Game show
More than $1.9 million was found by Digicel customers to conclude the nine weeks of excitement on the Merry Mansion game show.
And instead of only five getting into the mansion, all the contestants who qualified from the draw to visit the mansion were allowed to enter and hunt for cash. They all were also recipients of free cellular phones.
The objective was to ensure that all of the $2,260,500 booty was found. The customers searched the mansion in batches of five and of the lot, Reuben George was the luckiest. He found $405,500.
The atmosphere became most celebratory when show host Mondale Smith surprised the qualifiers by announcing that all will be given a chance to search the mansion.
The first batch which included the previous winner, Michelle Alphonso, was allotted five minutes to search for $2,260,500. But at the end of their search they had only found $1,195,500 leaving the second batch to search for $1,065,000 in three minutes.
At the end of their search the final batch was let in to search for $705,000 in 60 seconds. They found $415,000.
All told the game show gave away $5,710,000 since it began in November of 2009.
