Annually, the third Sunday in January is observed worldwide as World Religions Day. Today, the Inter Religious Organisation of Guyana (The IRO) will be hosting a programme to observe the day on the lawns of the Saraswatie Vidya Nikatan School at Cornelia Ida, West Coast Demerara from 15.45 hrs
There will be presentations by religious leaders, Prayers for Peace in the nation and the world and for harmony among the religions.
There will also be some cultural presentations and display booths, special prayers for the Haitian crisis for which a special offering will be collected as part of the religious proceedings.
