Dear Editor,
I note with disgust the ongoing ramblings, finger pointing, name calling and lack of disrespect spewed by Sasenarine Singh who has abandoned his country and now lives in another part of the world preaching what is good for Guyana and its populace.
This gentleman seems out of touch with the realities of Guyana. Has he forgotten the facts of Guyana? He’s only embarrassing himself and taking up valuable space in our letter columns to discuss petty issues, rather than offer some substance to the Guyanese people. Why do we allow someone who scampered away from his country to now lecture us what is good for us.
Since Mr. Singh’s departure from Guyana’s shore he has commenced an onslaught on the government and its policies. However, there seems to be some personal fall out or grievance Mr. Singh has with the government and all Guyanese should not be subjected to his personal downfall.
Recently, his lack of vision and optimism regarding Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) is expected and a slap in the face of working class patriotic people of Guyana. Unlike Sasenarine Singh, the LCDS is widely supported by the Opposition Parties and the wider Guyanese population.
This goes to show that Mr. Singh does not know about what happens at the grass root since he is not here. However, he depends on second hand information through the grape vines and from his ill-informed cronies. It’s a shame that a leaned man “as he claims himself to be” like Sasenarine Singh has to rely on hearsay; it is no wonder that his perception and information is inaccurate.
If Mr. Singh is so concerned about the right of the Guyanese people he should return to Guyana and fight for those rights, particularly for those he claims will be disenfranchised by an initiative that aims to help all the people of Guyana. Mr. Singh needs to state his real motives rather than the constant shenanigans that never cease to humour us.
We the working class people of Guyana is supportive of the LCDS that will act as a spring board for Guyana’s development and we would welcome Mr. Sasenarine Singh to return as he claimed to be a patriotic Guyanese and join in the development of our beloved homeland.
