Adult entertainment house “Red Dragon” yesterday denied that former national footballer and businessman, Vibert Weekes, was killed there last weekend.
Red Dragon’s owner, Raymond Alli, said that at no time “ at all on either Friday night or Saturday morning did Mr Weekes enter the Red Dragon club nor was he even in front of the club’s premises.”
He said that newspaper and television reports that surfaced over the weekend about a shooting fatality that occurred early on Saturday morning, kept referring to the incident as the “Red Dragon shooting.” Red Dragon is located at 53 Robb Street, Georgetown.
Alli, the Chief Executive Officer of Lenray’s Investment, which owns the club, said Weekes was shot in front of Mohamed’s Enterprise of 83 Robb Street on the southern side of the road and his body was found in the drain in front of that business enterprise. Red Dragon is located on the northern side of the road.
According to Alli, over the years, the Red Dragon has offered its patrons full security and has in place security checks for anyone entering the premises.
“There has never been a single unsavoury incident over the period of four years of our existence,” Alli declared. He wanted the media to stop using the club’s name in reports regarding Weekes’s death.
