Dear Editor,
It is my fervent wish that the cashiers at the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), find the most innovative ways to steal every cent they receive in cash on a daily basis.
I continue to be amazed that the people charged with regulating finance in our country have made absolutely no effort to bring Guyana into the modern age.
Every day there is talk about someone being robbed, maimed or killed because they were carrying around large amounts of cash. Why are our people being kept in such a financially archaic system when the world is moving to cashless societies?
I wish the Minister of Finance, along with the Central Bank would begin a modernization process that would see Guyanese utilising financial instruments or “plastic” rather than walking around with bundles of valueless money.
Please do something now!
