…fails to give information
to the police
A remanded prisoner, Tyrone Solomon, 22, of 3440 Jacksonville, North Ruimveldt, was yesterday further remanded after appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson to answer a charge of failing to give information to the police.
It is alleged that between August 26 and August 27, 2009, Solomon, while being aware that Roheema Dookie was kidnapped at Stevedore Squatting Area in Georgetown, he failed to give information to the police.
Solomon, who is an accused in the kidnapping, was represented by attorney at law Mark Waldron and was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
Waldron’s only request was to have the trial of this new charge run simultaneously with the trial for the kidnapping of Dookie, which is underway in another court at the time his client had appeared to be read this new charge. The Acting Chief Magistrate granted his request and scheduled Solomon to make another appearance on February 20, which is the next court date for his trial for kidnapping.
