Dear Editor,
The PPP Government have shown us time after time that they have no idea of what things are right and what things are wrong for them to practice in the lives of the people that they are supposed to be “governing”.
The people of Georgetown were served with two Light Bills due for payment before the 25th December, 2009 Christmas Day. In my opinion, nothing can be more evil.
A lot of people have been complaining to me about the hardship that this unconscionable demand has caused in their lives. They are saying that there is no way that they can make these payments twice in one month, and especially in December.
It is left to be seen if the PPP will plunge a large section of the Georgetown households into darkness before the advent of the New Year. I do not believe that the PPP is stupid to risk that sort of thing, but they will need to give the people an assurance as to a satisfactory grace period for the second demand for payment, to be reasonably met.
This brings me to my own assessment of the true nature of the PPP beast.
I am one of a handful of persons in Guyana who have felt the full brunt of the hatred that the PPP administration can give out, and so I fully understand the effects of oppression and repression that some people may be feeling right now as the PPP government “up the ante” of oppressive behaviour towards Guyanese.
Over the period of the last six months in particular, I have observed new pieces of legislation and other regulations that will do nothing to improve the quality of life for Guyanese. For example: the Legal Practitioners Act and the Court of Appeal Amendment Axt.
The PPP’s spin doctors and fellow travellers have been writing in the newspapers that the PPP party will win each and every national elections and will win the next one in 2011, because they have the “numbers”. Let say now, that is a lie. The sins of the PPP party and government are too great for ordinary people to carry on their backs.
I will be at the next elections. Guyana will have a new government and a new President. My word is eternal, it is the voice of Hope. There is still a lot of decent and conscientious people who will work to make sure that truth and honesty will bring about changes for the good of this nation.
The people who are working to bring this about are everywhere in the society, even operating at very high levels. Everything will be revealed in the fullness of time.
“Numbers” will mean nothing when matched against the intelligence of individual Guyanese.
I am asking each and every Guyanese to start using your own brain to think for yourself, instead of looking to false people to find the solution for your social and political problems.
The solution lies in “calling a spade a spade”, to use colloquial terms. If a thing is bad then you say it is bad, no shades of gray.
Do not say that you are not interested in politics. Politics is about life and everyone must be interested in the quality of life that you will want to have for yourself and for your children.
The PPP administration is like a cancer in our society. A sickness, a very serious one. It operates to kill, and in destroying its host it kills itself in the end. You have to save yourself. Think for yourself.
Do not follow the advice of persons who will tell you to pray for the Government and its members. Think for yourself. That will be like praying for the strength of the devil to destroy you and your loved ones and friends.
Instead the prayers must be that we should be delivered from evil, and that persons who indulge in evil practices of oppression, repression, corruption, theft, murders and such things should be made to pay for their sins. That is the way it should be. You will get what you ask for.
The Guyanese way of life as we know it has been taken away from us. There is no more decency in high places, no laughter from the children. The parents of certain kinds of people in this society are unemployed. Trouble is ahead.
Have a Blessed Day.
